Caring for your hair is one of the best things you can do if you want to look healthy and put together. Not only will it help you to look your best, it’ll also help to keep your hair and scalp as healthy as possible. Hair that has been neglected can look dull, split, dry, and you can experience all kinds of other problems, such as having trouble styling and hair that falls out. And umm nobody got time for that! Try out some of the hair care tips in this guide and you’ll be able to change it for the better.

Know Your Hair Type

Knowing your hair type is the first step to having amazing hair. There are all kinds of hair types; curly and thick, frizzy, fine and limp, kinky, course and more. Making sure you know yours will give you a better idea of what products you need to be using and how you can overcome certain problems. Somebody with curly and thick hair may have trouble styling, and so may somebody who has fine and limp hair. However, the way they must go about fixing their problem will be completely different!

Invest In A Few Quality Products

Once you know your hair type, set out to do some research and invest in a few quality products.  I am a product junkie which is not good but sometimes its the only way to find out what your hair likes. This could be something that helps to make your hair more manageable, or something that makes your hair look shiny. Moroccan oil is a pretty great treatment for just about any hair type, and although it’s expensive, it’ll last for forever. If you’re unsure, it could be a good idea to check out beauty vloggers on Youtube and speak to friends  with the same hair type to see what they recommend. Purchase samples to try when you have a few suggestions so that you don’t end up breaking the bank on something that doesn’t work for you!

Use A Silk Pillowcase

Sleeping on a silk pillowcase is great for a number of reasons. You can stop the cotton on regular cases from taking the moisture out of your skin and hair, ensuring they remain in great condition. Not only that, it’ll help you to hold your style even longer. Your skin will thank you as a result of sleeping on one of these too, preventing aging and fine lines! Yass hunty!!

Don’t Overwash Your Hair

How often do you wash your hair? If it’s every day, or even every other day, you may be washing too much. Washing your hair strips the natural oils from your hair, so you shouldn’t do it too often. Some women have even adopted a ‘no poo’ lifestyle where they don’t shampoo their hair at all! It might sound strange, but in some cases it can be better for the hair. To cut back on washing it, make sure you do so slowly so your hair doesn’t feel greasy all the time. Generally, the more you wash it, the more it’ll create grease to be washed.

Enhance Your Hair Gently

If you want to enhance your hair in anyway,  for example new hair color -do so gently. Don’t use harsh products and chemicals on your hair. Try to stay as natural as you can. There are lots of natural products you can use to add volume and help you to create a better style, including Mongolian natural hair extensions. If you do get hair extensions, make sure you get a suitable type for your hair from a reputable source. If you have glue in, bonded, or any other similar kind of hair extension put in by somebody who is not trained, your hair will suffer. Believe me!  Not only will you get a bad result, you may also permanently damage your hair.

Don’t Wear The Same Hairstyle Each Day

Wearing the same hairstyle each day can be damaging, especially if you wear it in a bun or pony. Having your hair down isn’t so bad, but having your hair tight in a hair tie every day can begin to take it’s toll, and the stress on your hair can mean it begins to fall out. Make sure you switch up your hair styles for healthier hair! Try a headwrap 🙂 {Shameless Plug}

Caring for your hair is something everybody should start doing ASAP. The sooner you begin caring for your hair, the less you’ll have to worry in the future. Heat damaged hair and hair that has fell out due to the stress placed on it is not easy to fix. In some cases, damage from neglected hair can be permanent.
