Whether you’re going on a date with someone new or a romantic meal with your husband, looking good should be at the top of your list. As well as taking the time to pick the perfect outfit, it’s also important to think your beauty regime through.

First dates can be nerve-wracking and because of this, it can be hard to prepare properly. If it’s your husband, or long-term partner, that you are dating, it’s far too easy not to make an effort. After all, he sees you every day. I feel bad for my husband too because once I’m home makeup is off and pimple cream is on lol. However, if you want to keep the spark alive, making an effort on date night beauty is a must.

To help you beautify yourself – whether it’s a first date or dinner with your husband, I thought I would share some tips and advice:

Pamper yourself before Date Night

The key to feeling and looking good on your date is pampering yourself. If it’s a date with someone new, pampering will help you to relax and feel less nervous, which is a bonus. Split your pre-date preparation into two days, the day before and the day of the date.

The day before the date, start off by getting your excess facial and body hair removed. For us girls, excess hair isn’t something that we like to talk about, but believe it or not, we all have it. I go once a month to take care of that 🙂

There are plenty of options for hair removal. From waxing and shaving to laser hair removal and threading, you have lots of options for removing that pesky facial hair. I prefer to wax, and I thread my brows. The reason I say to get hair removed the day before your date is because sometimes, these treatments can leave your skin looking red. I usually get tiny bumps.ugh.

The day of the date, pamper yourself at home by soaking in a warm bubble bath. When you are preparing to go for a nice evening out, there’s nothing like a nice soak to relax you. While you are in the bath, use a sugar scrub – you can make these yourself, to exfoliate your face and body. Dead skin cells can leave our skin looking dry and lifeless, by exfoliating, we can remove them, making our skin happier and healthier.

Once you have finished in the bath, don’t forget to moisturize your face and body. After exfoliating, moisturizing is important, as it helps to give the skin a boost of hydration. For your body, a scented moisturizer is perfect, for your face, a gentle face cream is the best bet.

Perfect your hair

Something that many of us struggle with when it comes to date night is how to wear our hair. If you fancy doing something a little bit different with your hair, have a look at online for ideas- there are lots to choose from.  I love Pinterst,If you do opt for a new hairstyle, make sure to practice it at least once before the big night.

If hair styling isn’t your strong point, book yourself an appointments  with your hairdresser and ask them to style your hair for you.

Be choosy about your makeup

When it comes to your date night makeup, the most important thing is that it stays on all night long. There’s nothing worse than makeup that runs or rubs off halfway through a date, leaving your face a mess. That’s why it’s so important that you ensure you have done everything that you can to keep your makeup in place.Wearing primer under your makeup is a must – this will help to set your foundation. Use a long-lasting foundation and add powder over the top. Instead of wearing pencil eyeliner, opt for liquid, as this stays on better. Make sure that both your mascara and lipstick are waterproof, so that you don’t have to worry about them coming off. (Make sure to pack your lipstick, eyeliner and concealer in your bag, in case any touch ups are needed.)

Preparing for date night can be a struggle some times, especially if it’s for a first date. However, if you follow these tips, you can make the process less stressful, and can ensure that on date night, you look your best.
