When it comes to life, we all have ideas about what we want to do and how we want to live. Whether you’ve had big dreams from a young age or you’re trying to pull together a perfect life based on what you have around you, it can feel tough. If you know what you want out of life, it’s time to put your plans into place and make that life yours. No matter how big your dreams may be, or how simple they seem, if you put the work in, they will happen. But that’s the thing about chasing a life that you’ve always wanted, you have to take action. You can’t just wish for a life and then hope it comes to you. You have to work for it and actually bring it to you. But that doesn’t mean it has to be hard work or impossible. By making a few changes to your life as you know it, and trying a new approach, you’ll get there.  Here are ten things that can help you.


  1. Set Goals

First of all, you need to have goals. And we’re not just talking about that vision in your mind – although that is a good starting point. When it comes to actually getting what you want in life, you have to follow a path. So, you need to set yourself some life goals, and then apply some actionable steps so that you know what you need to do to meet them. When you have it all written down and thought out, you’ll have more chance of making it happen.

  1. Create A Career Plan

To help you along with that first point, you may also want to create a career plan for yourself. Even if you love your job now, if you know that you want to get a promotion, or you want to be able to get to a certain point, a plan will help. Much like the goal setting process, this is going to give you actionable steps to work through to get to where you want to be.


  1. Learn

Next, you’re going to want to be willing to learn. Because when we’re talking about the things you need to do to be able to grow, you’ll need to improve your knowledge and experience. This doesn’t always mean that you need more formal education. Instead, think about surrounding yourself with strong, knowledgeable and smart people that you can learn a lot from on your growth journey.



  1. Focus On Your Mental & Emotional Health

It may sound out of place, but you do also have to start to prioritize your mental health. If you want to drastically change your life and create something that you know you want, you have to be strong and mentally resilient. You also need to be happy. So being more in control of your mental health will help you here.

  1. Prioritize Your Fitness

At the same time, you’re also going to want to make sure that you start to look after your physical health too. Look into gyms near you or classes that you might like to take. Make sure that your weekly schedule involves exercise as well as hard work, time to yourself, and social time. A well balanced week will mean that you’re in the best possible position to get to where you want to be.

  1. Take Pride In Your Appearance

Looking after your appearance can also be a smart move to get you to where you want to be. Whether you want healthier skin or to dress well, by putting time and effort into how you look, you’ll feel your best. And when you feel your best, you’re in the prime position to believe in yourself and work harder for what you want.


  1. Act As If

To help you, you might want to start acting as if. By getting your mindset into the position where you dress, feel, and act like you have the life you want, you’ll be getting yourself closer to it. Before long, you won’t be acting as if, you’ll just have it.


  1. Do Things That Make You Happy

You also need to actively start doing things that make you happy. Whether that’s buying flowers for your apartment to cheer yourself up, moving to a new city, or spending time with people that make you smile. When you’re focusing on being happy, you’ll be creating that perfect life without even realizing it.

Also make sure that your finances are in-line with what you want to. It’s not enough to just say you want a certain life, you have to make sure that your align your actions with what you want – especially financially. You can’t spend like crazy if you want to buy a big house in the future. Just think about that.

  1. Focus On The Long Term

But above all else, you really need to be focusing on the long-term, and not just instant gratification or what today looks like to you. Yes, you could work hard to create a life that you love now, and you could have all of the material things that you want, but how long will that last? Wouldn’t you rather work hard today, live humbly, and have a better pay-off in the future? That’s what focusing on the long-term can do for you. So keep your goals in mind, make sure your actions match your ambitions, and you’ll get there. Trust me!
