Okay so hear me out it’s Fall yes…but it was also 80 degrees just last week and I was dying to style my sweatshirt with my tennis skirt and I absolutely love the look. This look can also be worn in the Spring too, but we are focusing on fall here. I almost wore ankle booties with this look but as I said the weather was amazing and the toes had to be out one last time. But if you’re like me and still want to wear your tennis skirts in the Fall because it’s stylish and comfortable well here are a few adjustments to accommodate cooler weather, below.
Choose the Right Fabric:
Opt for tennis skirts made from thicker materials or fabrics designed for cooler weather, such as wool, corduroy, or heavy cotton. These materials provide better insulation.
Pair with Tights or Leggings:
To keep your legs warm, wear opaque tights or leggings underneath your tennis skirt. This will add a layer of insulation and make the outfit more suitable for fall temperatures.
Select Appropriate Footwear:
Consider wearing ankle boots or sneakers with your tennis skirt to keep your feet warm. Sneakers with socks can create a sporty and comfortable look, while ankle boots can add a touch of elegance. [I] Love the boots with this look below though. I’d say always go with a heel, I find it looks more chic, and grown-up styled that way.
Layer with a Sweater or Cardigan:
Top your tennis skirt with a cozy sweater, cardigan, or long-sleeved blouse. Sweaters made of wool or cashmere can provide extra warmth and comfort. Get my Sweater here it’s so good! I’m wearing a “M” but you can always size up for that oversized look.
Add a Jacket or Coat:
For chillier fall days, layer your outfit with a stylish jacket or coat. A denim jacket, leather jacket, or trench coat can complement the tennis skirt while keeping you warm.
Accessorize:
Add fall-appropriate accessories like scarves, beanies, or berets to complete your look and keep your neck and head warm. Clearly I wore my headwrap here I also have a lot more colors and patterns on WrapQueen.com
Choose Fall Colors:
Opt for fall color palettes such as earthy tones, deep reds, mustard yellows, or rich greens to give your outfit a seasonal vibe. Green Skirt {Here}
Consider the Length:
If you’re concerned about the length of your tennis skirt, you can always choose a slightly longer option to provide more coverage for your legs or if you’re a bit older and want to have a longer length.
Mix and Match:
Guys experiment with different combinations of tops, skirts, and accessories to find the look that best suits your style and the weather conditions hahaha. If the weather allows it you can do exactly what I did and opt for an open-toe shoe.
Always remember that personal style is subjective, so feel free to play around with these tips to your own preferences and comfort levels. With the right tennis skirt and layering, of course, you can enjoy wearing a tennis skirt in the fall while staying warm and fashionable.
