If you didn’t know now you know lol, my favorite color is orange. I absolutely love this color I think it looks amazing on my skin. The second runner-up is yellow and then green. Hahaha, I have no idea why I felt the need to let you in on this information; as nobody asked. Anyway…I know for a fact that lots of people love color; I mean why wouldn’t you, studies show it makes you happy. However, people shy away from it because it can be considered loud, attention-seeking, and difficult to style. So what tends to happen is everyone wears black or neutrals. I will say this. I love a neutral home for my mental health lol but when it comes to clothing honey, give me all the colors as it’s the easiest way for me to have my personality shine without speaking.
What if I told you that you don’t have to be afraid of color, actually embrace it. Life is too short to be remembered in just wearing black- ugh ..I don’t care how cool other folks try to make it seem. I meannnn black will definitely always be the moment, but color baby is gonna do it every time. If you are new to color i say go out and buy only one item; don’t go crazy picking up a pink dress a yellow hat and a green top, just Nooooo! Only get one item in your fave color whether it be a shirt, skirt, shorts, pants, or overalls you get it right… and then re-wear that piece over and over with neutral items until you get comfortable. For example I love this shirt that I’m wearing here and it’s my favorite color. I now styled it twice, and plan on styling it another time for a future event I’ll be attending in June. I styled this shirt with a neutral bottom so as not to do too much, as I know it can be intimidating for a person new to color to wear two bright pieces. So you can choose black, brown, beige, cream, army fatigue, and denim as a neutral to pair with your bright piece. Another advantage with you restyling your colored piece, is that soon you will become a master at styling as you’ve shown how to get several wears out of an item. This can also save you money as well.
Now moving on from today’s lesson lol. How cute is this skirt? I adore polka dots so I had to get my hands on these. I almost styled them with a denim shirt but decided to go a different route, and wore my orange shirt instead. I’m also trying to see how many ways I can style this shirt as a bit of a challenge to myself. This skirt is too cute I’m upset I didn’t get the matching top as it would be hella cute. Skirts are totally in for the Spring and summer, doesn’t matter the length, so try investing in some. I plan on living in them all season long especially seeing that it’s so hot where I live.
