I promised myself that this Summer would be different, I would be going out a lil bit more although if I could have it my way, I’d totally stay inside and watch movies and eat lol; in the comfort of my own home. Don’t get me wrong I love getting dressed up and looking cute- but the introvert side of me; much rather stay home with my husband, kid and my dog but anyway I digress.
I decided to shoot a Quick Get Ready With Me Video as I was getting dressed. There’s nothing I love more than button down shirts, especially my hubby’s hehe hopefully he’s not reading lol. It’s such an easy to look put together effortlessly. I love them slightly oversized too. I own quite a few over the years, This one I picked up last year with these tangerine shorts to go with. What I love about this look is that it could work with a cute pair of flats or heels like I did here. I love a gold heel it just makes any look that much classier and it tends to look a bit more expensive. I linked a few amazing ones down below. We were headed to a cute brunch spot so I opted for this look -paired it with my favorite accessory; ahem my headwrap from Wrapqueen Love you guys!
Thanks for reading,
Xoxo

I know this color combo has been seen everywhere. I’m obsessed; I actually did this look last year, but in the reverse lol my skirt was pink and my top orange. I was excited when I saw these orange shorts. They were too good and I’ve had this pink top since forever so it was a no brainer to pair together.
Lately I’ve been leaving my hair out lately since it’s Summer but I’m dying to do braids, I must get them before the Summer ends like I must. I decided to wear my headwrap from WrapQueen. Which I thought paired so nicely with this look.
ohh how gorge is this wall…well the color lol, funny thing is I wanted a plain white wall as my background I thought it would make my outfit stand out but James aka the hubby insisted we use the blue wall and I love it . My headwrap and my shoes all have traces of blue too -so this was just perfect.

So excited to be wearing this mini skirt finally. I actually bought it last Summer as I was so obsessed with this one here I need to re-wear it this season as well. Are you guys into lil mini skirts too? I find them super sexy and feminine. I love to wear them when I need to take a break from denims.
.Anyway, how are you guys? I’m okay, it’s pretty hard to focus today for some reason I have a lot to do as I’m taking a 5 day boot camp course and it’s currently kicking my butt. I was working on it all day/night yesterday and today my printer isn’t working for me to complete today’s task; and I’m having major anxiety…but I digress. Decided to wear this look on a lil lunch date with the hubbz as I barely dress up these days but we were celebrating 6 years in business so ya know I had to look a lil cute. I’ve also gone back on youtube and I’m excited about that again. Honestly, I just want to do all the things in life that I’ve always wanted to do because I don’t want any regrets when I’m older.

How are you? So much has been happening in the world and in my life right now I don’t even know where to begin gosh. It’s as if one minute I’m totally fine and then next minute I hear something that triggers my emotion and then I’m in a bad mood again. But i’m sure I’m not the only one experiencing this right? It also doesn’t help that my hormones are legit cray cray right now some months I see my period twice FML. I’ve been meaning to see a gynecologist forever but with covid I couldn’t -definitely setting up some time to do that once my cycle is over. Oh and another thing I’ve noticed in the past month is that whenever I’m Pmsing I suddenly have difficulty sleeping at night-before it was the opposite and not being able to sleep is not fun believe me. I’m up thinking about what I’m going to have for lunch the next day and WrapQueen shoots smh.
Hmm… what else last week I found out that a woman my Dad once dated who I liked very much passed away and let me tell you that was heavy. Especially because I found out so randomly, I literally got a notification from FB and I saw her comment on an old post of mine- went to her page and saw someone wrote RIP- I was like wtf -it scared me so much and then as I read more comments I saw it was actually true. I felt horrible and cried because I stopped talking to her for 2 years after my Dad and her broke up because she was hurt and I didn’t feel comfortable discussing him with her.I had to be loyal and I chose my Father, do I regret it a lil bit yes and no- as she was so involved in my Dad’s side of the family, sisters etc who I had to cut off for my own mental health -so dealing with someone that is connected to them wouldn’t be ideal. But she was a good woman so sweet to my son and to me, more of a grandparent than my own parents, so I cried I cried alot because she was definitely gone too soon and I wish I could tell her that I did care for her I just had to choose me. Then to top it off the news about Chadwick Boseman really took me by surprise and hurt a lot as well. We were all so excited to see the next Black Panther movie and to know that his life was cut short -hurt deep.

Okay so now that I’ve let you all know what’s been going on with me, let’s get to the fun part lol my outfit. Originally this dress caught my eye in the black color as a girl can never have too many black dresses- but I also loved this color mint as well and thought it would compliment my skin tone so much -that I had to have it. It reminded me of something Sarah Jessica Parker form Sex in the City would wear and I was here for it. It’s such a fun and playful dress. I decided to wear my white sandals and bag with it- although you can totally rock this with a clear heel as well.
The dress is layered which came as a surprise to me. So you have a body con fitting dress and the tulle dress on top.
Would you believe me if I told you this was the first time I wore these heels, I’ve had them for 3 years and wore them with this dress …I’m in love super comfy, gonna try and get some more wears hopefully before Fall starts hehe. Thanks so much for reading you guys. Dress & Bag from Missguided. Ad.

How are you guys? I hope everyone is hanging in there because 2020 is out here working overtime yall. I’ve been so moody this month more than my usual although I think it’s because I’ve set some goals for myself and haven’t been able to accomplish them yet, which somehow has me up at night thinking about the million and one things that I need to do for myself the fam bam, Wrapqueen I’ve even had to turn down a brand deal …ugh …send help please!! Hopefully the remaining of the month goes smooth so things can get back to normal.
Okkkay now let’s get into this look. I contemplated so many ways to wear these shorts; I originally wanted to do a half top with a blazer and heels my usual sophisticated type looks- but I decided to go with a simple graphic tee and heels as anyone can pull this look off, and it’s super easy. A plain white tee could have worked as well. But I chose a graphic tee as it shows more personality.
I absolutely love the pic above -as it’s candid and those are always the best! Also you’re able to see the exact reason why these shorts are easily my fave. For one it’s not tight at all, more of a loose fit which I love. And to top it off the back is longer than the front so no butt cheeks will be hanging out okurrrrr. Plus I’m loving the distressed effortless look of it.
After the shoot the hubbz, X and I drove to Brooklyn to get our fave. A poke bowl from Pokestop it’s absolutely the best. Sucked that we had to drive so far but the location that we would frequent in the city is now permanently closed due to covid, which sucks but we enjoyed the drive:)
